Compassionate Support for Life’s Final Chapter

A New Vision for Home Care and the Future of Work

At Biscochito, we are pioneering a new model of in-home senior care—one that reimagines how support is delivered and how care teams are organized. Rather than replicating traditional agency structures, we’ve developed a decentralized, self-sustaining model that honors the dignity of labor, prioritizes relational trust, and centers the needs of both careseekers and caregivers.

This is not just a new way to do home care. It’s a new way to build a business.

What Makes the Biscochito Model Different

Our non-hierarchical structure is designed to scale without compromising values. Instead of centralized decision-making, we cultivate localized care teams in Santa Fe, Boulder, and Houston—groups of professionals who coordinate together to deliver responsive, compassionate support.

Each team member contributes to collective leadership and benefits from relational tools and shared resources. The result? More consistency for families, more trust within care teams, and better outcomes for older adults.

Benefits for Care Professionals:

  • Meaningful work with autonomy

  • Supportive professional community

  • Skill-building and confidence development

  • Above-average retention and satisfaction

Benefits for Communities:

  • Local home care services tailored to community needs

  • Responsive, consistent care rooted in trust

  • Increased access to high-quality, relationship-based support

Benefits for Innovators and Funders:

  • A scalable, ethical alternative to agency models

  • Operational efficiency without central bureaucracy

  • Proof-of-concept for mission-aligned investing in senior care

A Blueprint for Change

Biscochito’s model has drawn the attention of researchers and leaders in social enterprise and organizational design. We’re actively collaborating with faculty from Harvard Business School and Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business to explore how decentralized care models can improve outcomes for both careseekers and care professionals.

Together, we’re studying how relational structures and AI-enhanced tools can support:

  • Collaborative scheduling

  • Mutual accountability

  • Reduced turnover

  • Increased satisfaction among care teams and families

Our shared goal is to develop a replicable framework that strengthens communities, improves elder care, and sets a new standard for care economy innovation.

Looking Ahead

We believe that relationship-based elder care is the future—and that organizations must evolve to meet the complex needs of aging populations. Our work has been noted by forward-thinking business school leaders and mission-driven investors, and we’re continuing to refine this approach for broader application.

While we haven’t yet been featured in series like Working (Higher Ground/Netflix), we align deeply with the values it uplifts: dignity in labor, human-centered design, and a new vision for how work can be done well.
